Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Today, we had a fantastic morning when Rocksteady Music School visited us. We started the morning with a whole school assembly where Tim demonstrated the instruments he had bought: electric drums, Base and lead electric guitars and an electric keyboard. Before long, we were all singing and clapping along with some brilliant songs. During the morning, all classes took part in musical workshops, which involved singing, clapping and, for some lucky children, playing in the band. It was lovely to see the children all leaving their workshops with smiles on their faces and clearly having had a great time. We may well have some budding band members in our school community!
To end our Science unit on 'Sound', we visited Magna Science Centre in Sheffield. Our day started with a workshop about sound - we explored different sounds and did lots of different experiments to investigate pitch and volume. We the had the opportunity to explore the rest of the centre, which focussed on the elements of water, fire, Earth and air. We did lots of hands-on activities and learnt some really interesting things!
Class 4 had a wonderful day dressed up as Greek Gods, Goddesses and other Greek characters. We sampled traditional Greek food in a banquet, had a go at some Greek dancing, made laurel wreaths to wear and learnt how to write our names in Greek.
To celebrate National Storytelling Week, we enjoyed sharing stories with children from different classes.
