Admission to our part-time Foundation 1 (Nursery) provision

Muskham Primary School is able to offer free, part-time places for 4-year olds born between September 1st and March 31st.  There is  one intake which begins in January of each year.  

We offer the following sessions:

·Afternoons only: 1:00 – 3:20pm  (2 hrs 20 mins per day) Each afternoon is equivalent to 1 session.  

· Whole days on Mondays and Tuesdays only: 8:50 – 3:20 am (6.5 hrs) Each day is equivalent to 2 sessions

All children can access up to 5 sessions but must access at least 4.  Families entitled to 30 hours of free childcare (15 Universal & 15 Extended) can access all sessions.

15 hour entitlement:

All children aged between 3 & 4 years are entitled to the Government's universal funding. This allows for children to attend for 15 hours each week in term time. Any hours not spent at Muskham Primary can be transferred to another setting.

30 hour provision (15 Universal Hours & 15 Extended):

Parents should use the online HRMC eligibility checking system at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to obtain an eligibility code for 15 extended hours. If you experience any problems checking your eligibility please contact the Customer Interaction Centre on 0300 123 4097.

There is  a maximum of 16 places available per session (Jan 2023). These are allocated directly by the school using Nottinghamshire’s ‘Standard Reception Admissions Criteria’.

You can register your interest in a part-time place at any point (most parents/carers register around the child’s third birthday).
