Today, Class 6 visited the Mansfield Recovery Facility. We were able to tour the facility to learn what happens to recycled waste and what the materials recovered are used for. We also learnt about the importance of recycling and the impact on the environment. We are very keen to share our learning with pupils and parents; over the next few weeks we will be working hard to inform others about the items that can and cannot be recycled.

Class 3 loved their trip along the river Trent and to Cromwell Lock. Adrian from the Canal and Rivers Trust showed us all the parts of a river using his excellent sand model before we headed out along the river. We made beautiful wild flower chains and conducted experiments to determine the river’s width and speed. At the lock, we were able to go up the keeper’s tower and control the lock’s gates. It was a truly excellent day for all!
