I hope all of our Muskham families continue to enjoy the summer holiday - there are still a few days left yet!
The building work at school has gone very well and we are now looking forward to having the school handed back to staff on Monday 1st September ready to welcome you all on Thursday 3rd. Remember that the morning bell will ring two minutes earlier than normal in order that the register can be taken on time in class at 9.00. Foundation Class children and families are, as always, welcome in class from 0845; Mrs Tansley is looking forward to the new Class 1 showing off their lining up on the playground as they make the next step in their growing independence.
Do remember to check your child's class page for any start of term messages; information about PE days has been added this week. If your child is feeling nervous about a new school or teacher, there's a useful leaflet called "Starting a new school" on the "Helping your Child" section
As noted above, the building work has gone well. In each classroom, we now have modern ceilings with diffused lighting and an integrated fire alarm system. Mr Ford has been busy with decorating in many classrooms and Class 3's original 1960s blackboard has finally been 'retired'. Both Mrs Crossland and I are looking forward to moving into our new office which has been created from some of the "dead space" in the library. The main office is not quite finished but Mrs Adams and Mrs Checkley are relieved that the space is at least workable! In Foundation, Class 1 and the staffroom, preparation work has been completed ready for the replacement of the original metal-frame windows during October half term.
I am pleased that we will be starting the new school year with an improved learning environment for Muskham's pupils. The staff team are very much looking forward to working with you in the coming year and look forward to welcoming you for the start of term on Thursday morning.
