Although Miss Pimperton remains too ill to return to work, I am pleased to be able to tell you that Mrs Katie Marvin will be returning to work with Class 5 after February Half Term. Mrs Marvin will be undertaking a “phased return”, building up to her expected teaching commitment of 2.5 days per week over the month to March 20th.
It is always difficult when a class teacher is absent for an extended period of time. The class has made good progress so far this year and I am determined to ensure that this will continue to be the case. With this in mind, I am now able to tell you that Mrs Carroll and Mrs Thacker will be staying with Class 5 for the rest of the school year. Mrs Marvin will be joining Class 5 as an additional teacher, teaching alongside Mrs Carroll and Mrs Thacker to ensure that the children are fully prepared for Year 6 without having to undergo yet another change of teacher. This arrangement has been funded by Nottinghamshire County Council in recognition of the difficult circumstances that Class 5 has experienced.
I am confident that this solution is the very best offer for Class 5 and they will be prepared for high achievement in Year 6 as a result.
