Area Basketball Champs!
Congratulations to our school basketball team who concluded their entire season’s unbeaten run with a 14-2 victory over Abbey Gates Primary on Wednesday, taking the school league’s top spot.
2016 is the first time the school has had a basketball team so to make such an incredible debut is a huge credit to the talent of our pupils on the team. Thanks to our coach, Andy Coe, and to Mrs Marvin for co-ordinating the team’s admin.
We are all very proud of the team’s achievements!
Also, congratulations to Dan and Tom (Class 6) who represented the Nottinghamshire County Basketball Team in the regional tournament this month. Dan excelled in his first captaincy of the team, bringing Nottinghamshire to the top-spot as the region’s number one scorer. Tom also showed his excellent skills as the third top-scorer in Nottinghamshire’s team. The boys beat Northants and Leicestershire in the group round, and claimed victory over Derbyshire in the finals.
In the summer term, Dan and Tom will be assisting with Basketball Club on a Friday afternoon – if you got a place you’ll be enjoying coaching from our school’s champion pair!
