As part of the special measures support agreement with Nottinghamshire County Council, Mrs Power has been asked to work directly with Year 6 pupils on Monday and Tuesday afternoons next half term. This is as a result of Mrs Power’s nationally awarded “Specialist Leader of Education” status for Primary English and Class 6’s specific needs as they prepare for SATs.
I am pleased to tell you that Mrs Rachel Hill will be joining our staff and has been allocated to cover these two afternoons. Mrs Hill has recently re-located from Oxfordshire with her young family and brings a wealth of experience as a Senior Teacher. It is my intention that any additional cover needed in Class 4 will also be provided by Mrs Hill in order to ensure maximum continuity for the class – in fact it was Mrs Hill who covered Mrs Power’s absence yesterday.
The children in Class 4 also met Mrs Karen Robinson yesterday; another experienced teacher who I am hoping will be in a position to offer the school some teacher-led group and 1 to 1 learning support. As many of you will know, additional teacher capacity is already in place in Foundation Stage and Classes 2, 5 and 6 so I am pleased to be able to look at similar support for pupils in Class 4.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Yours sincerely
Mr R. Gray
Head of School
